Sticky Google Preferences

CustomizeGoogle 0.60 is now available from the CustomizeGoogle homepage.

This release has a new feature called "Sticky Google Preferences". Use this feature
  • if you clear your cookies often
  • if you want to make sure that your children won't find explicit text and images
  • if you want to propagate your preferences to several Google domains
The feature Stream Google search result pages is now also compatible with most (but not all) extensions and userscripts. Instructions for making a extension/userscript compatible with this feature can be found here.

I need to test further, but it seems that as of around june 25 2007, this extension causes Google search pages to reload continously.

At least for google.dk/* searches

Disabling extension fixed issue.

An update may be needed.

Try to disable Greasemonkey and enable CustomizeGoogle. Did the problem go away? If yes, then you're using a userscript that needs to be modified. Try adding

@exclude http://*google.*/*#disable-userscript
at the top of the userscript. Read more here: http://groups.google.com/group/CustomizeGoogle/browse_thread/thread/ea634225af5efc08

This is a fantastic add-on - I'd say one of the top 10!

May I suggest a feature for the next release? When using the Google search box, open the results page in a new tab, the way Opera does.

I've discovered (08/03/07)that this extension disables the PicLens extension. Disabling CustomizeGoogle restores PicLens.

Is this another case of dueling javascripts? ;}
